For the first time closed after 71 years by Covid-19, Keukenhof, the most beautiful tulip park in the world, attracts millions of tourists each year this quiet.
The tulip park is located in Lisse, about 40 minutes by bus from Amsterdam, a destination not to be missed when visiting the Netherlands. Coming here, visitors are immersed in the beautiful scenery of the colorful tulip beds.
Millions of tourists flock to Keukenhof park every year to see the spring flowers. This year, flowers bloomed but not a single visitor due to the park’s closure due to Covid-19.
The park grows more than 7 million bulbs, with 800 different varieties of tulips. April to May is the time when flowers bloom most brilliantly.
The most popular tulips are Strong Gold (yellow), Leen van der Mark (red wings with white borders), Debutante (dark pink) and Viking (orange). The flower beds are interwoven through an overhead shot.
This is the first time Keukenhof park is closed after 71 years. Inside, only gardeners continue to take care of the flowers.
Dutch photographer Albert Dros, a landscape and tulip enthusiast, contacted his manager for a day in the garden. He shared that this is a rare opportunity to capture the scenery of blooming flowers without people, which is very difficult every year.
Dros freely explores an area of over 30 hectares, spends a day shooting tulips and iconic Dutch buildings, including a windmill modeled in the garden.
On a sunny day, the flower beds become more prominent. The author spends his time walking in the park, listening to the birds singing and enjoying the fragrance of tulips. Sometimes he spent 30 minutes sitting and watching the flowers on the edge of the lake without ripples in the fresh natural space.
