Iceland is as beautiful as another planet on Earth because it fascinates visitors through the magical landscapes of the aurora, diamond shores, sparkling ice caves, etc.

Iceland – another planet on Earth

As a passionate explorer of new lands, having set foot in many different countries, I always wish to have a wonderful visit to Iceland. My wish was fulfilled by the end of 2019. I came to Iceland at the end of October last year to hunt for the clear aurora nights. Iceland is beautiful every season in its own way. I and a group of 4 people spend 6 days to explore some famous places on the island. The weather in October in Iceland is cold, you should prepare personal belongings necessary for keeping your body warm like woolen hats, gloves, snowshoes … to make the trip more complete. To save money, I stay at a hostel in the center of the capital Reykjavík, the room price per night is about 500,000 VND / person. Another cheap accommodation option in Iceland you can refer to is homestayVietnamese people own. The only means of access to the island is airplanes. Before coming to Iceland, I had time in some European countries so I flew from Bergen city (Norway) to Keflavík airport (Iceland), it took about 2-3 hours. To move in Iceland, you have 2 options including self-drive car rental, cost about 70-100 euros / car for a day to move, not including gas money.

6 days exploring the island

The first day, I landed at the airport and went to Blue Lagoon to take a hot bath and spend some time hunting the aurora. The second day, I saw the Vatnajokul glacier, Jokulsarlon glacial lake, diamond sea. Iceland is a different planet. The scenery on the diamond sea fascinates visitors by the glacial ice sheets on the black sand, the distance is snowy mountains and the turquoise sea. The next day, I departed for Snaefellsnes Penisula. Arriving at the Snaefellsnes Penisula peninsula, you can visit the village of Arnarstapi, bay of route 54, Snæfellsnesvegur bridge, Kirkjufoss waterfall, Arnarstapi fishing village. Shaped-like-an-arrow-head mountain, the location of the Game of Thrones movie set, is the most popular attraction at Snaefellsnes Penisula, a mountain called Kirkjufell. I started the 4th day from 8am, departed South Coast, visited Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Skogafoss waterfall, Reynisfjara black sand. Day 5 is the journey to discover the Golden Circle. Here, you can visit the Gullfoss ladder waterfall, Kerid crater, Geysir aquifer, Thingvelir geological park. The last day I packed my luggage and moved to the airport to go home.
